After buying a pioneer 110D about 3 months ago, i was pleased with it.
Then, it decided to become a DVD reader only... which was weird.

It wouldnt want to even try to burn anything, so i accpeted that, and emailed Pioneer about it.

They didnt do much, just said make sure its the latest firmware.
So i used the firmware package, 1.39 i think.

That didnt install properly, and gave me an error after.

    It rendered my drive useless!

Email pioneer about that, they said that i needed to take it back to the place i purchased it, and use the warrenty through them. I bought it at a Computer Fair, but not near where i live. So i didnt bother.

So, after being without a DVDRW for 2 months, i decided to purchase a new one, a NEC 4571. I got that the other day, installed it, and so far, very pleased :)

Now, i decided to look at what i can do with the pioneer 110D i still had in my PC. I had a look at flashing it. I tried the firmware update again, and guess what, it worked.

So, from there i still had a pioneer 110D that thought it was a DVD reader, nothing more. So i flashed it with 110 firmware.

Worked a treat first time! Now i have a 110D labelled and working like a 110!

There is one problem... it burns increadblu slowly, im just glad it burns at the moment.

DMA is enabled for it, and its connected as MASTER on the Secondary IDE channel.

If anyone has anything that might help? or if you need more info, please say :)

    Thank you!
