I have always used +r discs and i never had a problem with them. i recently took some of the members on this forums advice and purchased ridata dvd-r's and now my dvd burner wont recognize them, anything i can do to get them to work? i bought a 200 pack =(
and by the way i forgot to mention that on the compatable drvies my dvd burner was on there NEC-1100A so i really have no idea
Do you have the manual for your burner? You said you checked "compatible drives" and I assume that means you checked some web site, which is usually accurate if you mean the one I think you mean, but when in doubt check the manual for your own machine. It's odd that your burner won't recognize them -- the obvious reason is that your burner only burns +R's. Of course you also could have gotten a bad batch of -R's but that seems less likely. So do you have your manual handy?
Why did you buy 200 -R disc's for a +R burner? It is possible to change the firmware in the drive to a 1300A but it is risky. http://etna.rpc1.org/nec/nec1100 to 1300.html http://forum.rpc1.org/viewtopic.php?t=21490&start=0
[bold] i did, he said he was using ridata discs, i recommend SKCs, the question is did you read the post? [bold]
Um, Rjeremy ... the original poster apparently can't burn DVD-R discs, and you recommended that he purchase some "SKC Media DVD-R discs." They may be great quality for your burner, but if his burner doesn't burn DVD-R media, they would kinda suck.
