I'm trying to hook up the surround sound on my xbox 360. I just bought Logitech X-540 speakers. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16836121006 The problem is the 360 has a TOSlink output for the surround sound, but the speakers are primarily ment for a PC so they only have the three 3.5mm mini jack inputs (Green for fronts, Black for rears, Orange for the sub) So now I need something with a TOSlink input and analog outputs. I don't care if the outputs are mini jacks, RCAs, or the speaker wire clamps (Sorry, don't know the technechal name for them) I can work with it. Now, I assume there's no easy converter that I can buy, so I'll have to get a receiver. The problem is I can't find a simple, small, and cheap one. I don't want a huge bulky thing with a dvd player, radio tuner, video hookups, or anything like that. I'm just looking for something small to just get from TOSlink to analog. Does anyone know of something that can help me, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks.
Take a look at these receivers here. They should all have Optical inputs (TosLink) for audio. They also have basic HDMI switching for TV's with only one HDMI input, and systems with more than one source with HDMI output. I don't know of a device that will do what you are looking for.
Thanks for the reply, but there not what I'm looking for. I'm hoping to find something smaller and a little cheaper.
I've been searching like crazy and found a very similar product. I need something exactly like this http://www.griffintechnology.com/products/firewave, but instead of a firewire input, I need a toslink input.
