Hi, I've read the Tut over and over but still don't get what to do with the reader. I've made it and dunno if I have to solder SCL SDA and GND or where to solder them. Please help.
There are a couple of methods clearly discussed in the tut. You have mostly 4 choices. If you have very fine clip type instrument probes then use those.. They are reasonably expensive so the second option, which I will admit to using is to just tack the wires on to the eeprom legs by tinning the ends of the wires with a little solder first then tacking them with a hot dry iron.. Method 3 is by using the LPT points if you have the right version mobo, and the final solution which I also use.. because I'm a genius with a soldering iron.. especially if the mobo is trashed anyway is to remove the little 8 legged beastie completely. Personally in your case I would either use the LPT points (if available) or tack with a little solder. Now I'll be blunt.. the connection points are very clearly pointed out in good pictures more than once.. If you don't understand where the connection points are then should you really have your hands inside complicated electronic equipment?
Do I just put the wires through the LPC holes or do I still need some solder? Ha, yes I did understand the pictures just didn't know if I needed to solder the wires.
Sorry for double post but no one is paying attention to this and I need help fast not wait 5 hours for 1 post. Am I supposed to solder the wires into the LPC Pin Header? I have successfully read the EEPROM with my grandpa's help. I no longer need any assistance
