I need to trim 2 seperate sections out of an avi file i have and was wondering how i go about doing it in virtualdub? I've had a rumage through the forum but couldn't find anything. Could some one tell me how to do it or point me in the direction of another thread which might help? Thanks.

Open your file in VDub then move the slider along to the start of your first selection. Then click the left-hand 'arrow' button (the 'arrow' buttons are next to the frame counter) & that's your mark-in. Move the slider along to where you want the end of the selection and then click the right-hand 'arrow' button- you'll now have a highlighted section on the slider line which marks your selection. Make sure you have both video and audio set to 'Direct Stream Copy' (Video>Direct Stream Copy & Audio>Direct Stream Copy) and then File>Save as AVI. Repeat the process for your second selection.

VDub cuts on key frames though, so you won't get absolute frame accuracy in your cuts but it will be close.
