My wireless mouse wont work with my laptop. Its listed in the device manager as HID-Compliant Mouse and the status states it's working properly and the driver is up to date.

Any thoughts on why this is because I'm stumped! The mouse is Microsoft and OS is Vista.

Any software installed for the mouse? Is the receiver (?) plugged into a USB port? Are the batteries charged on the mouse? And finally, is the mouse switched on?

These questions may sound dumb, but I have been down this road before. :)

It didn't come with any software, ya the receiver is plugged in the USB port, its a brand new battery, and the mouse is on, and the receiver picks up the connection of the mouse because it blinks as it searches for it then turns solid...sooooooo I dunno
