I have tried and tried to get connected with no luck.. This is what i have.. I can connect media center to the xbox from the computer I want to ftp from but that is it.. i cant ping the xbox from the pc nor connect ftp.. I have disabled every firewall and still no luck.. The xbox ip is 192.168.1.102 and connects to internet with no problems.. As mentioned I can even connect through media center... I have tried both through thte wireless adaptor and I even hard wired the xbox... Nothing... I even tried placing the xbox in the dmz of the router and still nothing.. Any help anyone?
Oh yeah this might be some help not sure... I am using the linksys wrt150n router ... I also went in a port fowarded port 21 to the xbox in the router.. Still no luck
Look in the dash settings.. you have to enable ftp on the xbox end. Opening ports 20 and 21 on your router is a desperate measure as it exposes your network to remote ftp exploits and shouldn't be done. ::note:: there is some malware about that is targeting xbox systems connected to routers. Changing your ftp password secures this.
