I just bought the DVDXTreme that comes with XCopy Express RF. After my findings of what RF meant, I found the 321RIP download. I followed the instructions to a T but still no ripping going on here. I still get the CSS error. I also went under the MSConfig/startup and disabled all so that Roxio and other programs aren't running in the back ground.

    Still no burning going on!

Can anyone help me fix this problem?

These are the direction I followed for the download of the 321RIP

The rip free version CAN be rip enabled by changing the bouducon.dll for a rip enabled version of the same file. I recommend using the bouducon.dll file from XCopy platinum version 4.0.8.3 (bouducon.dll version 1.3.5.103) as it seems to be the last version that had the ripper before it was castrated.
After some serious testing (and a lot of Guinness!) I can safely say this will work on all RF versions to date, having tested to the best of my abilities.
Another bonus is NO Annoying DVD BACKUP screen with the RF version, which kind of makes my little proggie redundant now! lol

    **** Edit ****
I have made a file patcher that adds the CSS rip functionality to the RF versions of XCopy so no copyrighted .dlls have to be hosted. Download to your XCopyRF folder and run the patch!
    Download here: http://321rip.tripod.com/

    *** Edit *** 11/06/04
I have re-written the patch to be more intelligent, as some seem not to be able to find the correct folder to execute the patch in. Well if the installation was performed in the dafault location then the patch will do the work for you. If it's not it will prompt you to locate it manually.

    youngbuck,

I don't need the instructions. I want to know what you did? With earlier versions of 321rip you had to place it in the RF folder, I don't know if the you still do. 321rip was designed so there would be no copyright laws would be broken (ie. using a bouducon file from an earlier ripper version.)

Is this what you did? Download 321rip, place the patch in the RF folder (for you it will be XCopy Xpress RF), then execute the patch.

Yes! I ran the patch and placed the patch on the xcopy rf, then enabled the patch. Is that not right?

I ran the patch, was asked which version would I like enabled. Choose X copy express RF. The I was prompted to enable the patch, So I did. Checked the Xtreme software to see if the patch worked and still receive the CSS error message.

Do you get the css error with every movie? Have you tried playing the movie with PowerDVD or WinDVD first, play for at least a minute, then open Xtreme, let Xtreme detect the disc, shut down powerDVD or WinDVD, then continue with Xtreme?

    FYI: All.
I have heared of this happening with 321 rip. For some reason the "detect 2 different versions screen" is coming up and asking to select a version. Then throwing a loop. (I had this with my own Sis's PC!) I have been through the source code with a fine tooth comb and cannot find the reason for this phenomenon. It's driving me nuts, but I will find out WTF is going on. After all it is quite a simple source code compared to some I have written.
    Regards,
    Psi

I now downloaded the UK version of Xpress 321. All was well until a few days ago. A Microsoft update went through and now what took 30min to back up, now takes 1:47 just to read the DVD. I updated my ASPI layer. Uninstalled 321 then reinstalled. Not running any of the blacklist software. Completely uninstalled my driver for the burner, then reinstalled. Removed all the HotFix Updates from microsoft. Nothing seems to work. Everytime I backup a DVD, After waiting the 1:47 for the disk to be read, I place a blank Memorex 4X-DVD+R, and in a matter of five minutes of writing, I get a WRITING DISK ERROR message on an EXPRESS Box.
I'm real aggrivated with this software. I backedup with success for about 20 to 30 times. Now this error will not stop. I'm running OS: XP and using DVDRW IDE1008. I'm thinking that my burner isn't functioning properly but, device manager says everything is kewl. Think anyone can help me out here?

I tried the FORCE ASPI, and the ADAPTEC ASPI LAYER. Neither seem to work for me. I also tried to change the IDE Channel Property form PIO to DMA (if available) and vise/versa for both, primary and secondary. Same thing always happens, I get 100% if I wait the 1:47. Then I place a blank in the drive and all seems well for about 12% then the ERROR. Just keep creating coasters. Going to buy a DVD-RW this evening so that I can stop throwing my money away.

Also tried to use the Schrink and Decrypter along with Nero but After the Analye, I choose Back UP and all of Schrink shuts down with an error to send to MS.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

    almost 12.9 GB
This computers sole purpose is for internet and Photo and video editing. Now that i'm using it more, found 250GB HD for $179.00. If i get the sotware working, I'll invest in a larger HD

Well your system is crashing. Limited HD space could be one of your problems, other could be ... system overheating, not enough ram.

To backup DVD's most recommend 8-10GB free HD space. Although you have 12.9 it may just be too close to maxing out your HD. Have you tried defragging your HD? Also to see if it's overheating, take off the sides, place a fan on both sides. Try to backup a movie, if it doesn't crash then your problem is your pc is overheating.
