    Hello, New member here.
I was softmodding my xbox and now I have an error and can't use my xbox.
    The steps I took are:
    1. copied a saved game of 007 to my HD and copied sid3installer
    2. I put the game 007 and loaded the save game from HD
    3. The sid program loaded
    4. I created MS backup
    5. I backed up C: and eeprom
    6. I went to install softmod
    7. i had to choose between nkpatcher system or install bbl system
    8. I choose NKpatcher system
    9. Gave me option of single boot or dual boot
    10. I chose single
    11. Gave me option to: boot MS Dashboard
    boot c:\evoxdash.xbe
    boot e:\evox....
    boot f:\....
    boot g:\....
    12. i chose c:\evoxdash.xbe
    13. it installed, so I restarted the xbox and it gives me the error:
Your Xbox requires service(and then in different languages)
    the power button flashes red

There are no error numbers like some members have posted. and I can't even run original games, it just shows the Xbox logo and then gives the error. Can't play any games.

Any help would be appreciated. I didn't make a Hard copy of the backup files, they're still on the Xbox. I do have another xbox untouched, and am willing to hook the xbox to my comp...but I don't know what to do next without winggin it.
Please someone help, I will try anything now. I do need to have step by step solution as I am a newbie to softmoding.

    P.S.pic's would help

You'll have to hot swap or install a mod chip then.

For hot swapping, follow TheReturn's hot swap guide. Your MS backup is on your Xbox hard drive, so use that when you follow TheReturn's hot swap guide.

For mod chips, you can just use an autoinstaller to fix it.

Thanks for the quick response, but can you elaborate,I am a newbie, what is Hot swap? Is it software? Hardware or both. Can you give me a link? And I don't want to chip my Xbox.

    TheReturn's Hot Swap guide -> http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/332766

Basically, you're plugging your Xbox hard drive into the PC while both are on.

In your Xbox's current state, that's the only way to fix it without installing a mod chip.
