hey i got a question about dvd-writer and dvd rewriter

    yo i was wondering can dvd rewriter burn things into a disc or does it only rewrites things existin on a disc. plus which 1 would u recommend me. thx and peace

    There are basically only two types of optical drives. There is a ROM drive (Read only memory) this drive will play both DVD's and CD's but CANNOT BURN (copy) ANYTHING.

    The DVD-RW drive will read both DVD and CD discs, AND can burn both. The majority are DVD-RW dual layer players and burners. These are commonly called COMBO drives.

    A writeable disc can only be recorded to once. This cannot be altered. A re-writeable disc, can be written to AND the data erased if needed.
