Pretty solid build. On the HDD Id consider a switch to WD. You have 2 PSUs listed. So if you really added it to your cart twice, drop one, or get a 650. 550 should do you well though.

The video card is a bit weak for video editing imo.

What Video card would you suggest? If you can be specific!

You don't need a video card for editing video if you have a CRT monitor, on my video editing computer I'm just using the onboard motherboard video. You can get a basic radeon hd4350(for 40.00) only if you want to see a good quality picture on a LCD monitor.
The CPU is the most important thing for video editing, and you build everything else around it. Hard drives would be second most important (multiple drives at least 3 of them). And finally software.

my video editing computer xp sp3
    Amd phenom quad 9750
    2gb ram
    1x300gb boot drive
    3x500gb storage drives
    onboard video/audio
    400 watt "works" power supply.
    liteon 16x dvdrw
    software
    videredotvsuite
womble mpeg video wizard dvd 4.0
    avidemux

There are some video cards that can help speed up the video encoding, but that is more of a new feature on some very recent nvidia cards. But the newer quad cpu's are already fast enough by themselves.

The intel I7 is cutting edge for video editing an excellent choice, many people are always recommending the quads for gaming, but there main use is for video editing. Even my outdated phenom quad 9750 double my video editing performance.

Having at least 2 hard drives is nice for some types of video editing where the CPU isn't being taxed as much...reading from one, and writing to the other can get you twice the speed for twice the price...usualy twice the speed costs 4x as much or more. However, if you want RAID1 protection, then 2 hard drives is actualy 4 (or at least 3 if you only need RAID1 on your boot drive)...and hard drives are now a big part of the build price.

The 3870 is overkill for just video editing, but it is also able to play most games (even if at a low setting), and it can handle programs like Rhino with ease...although I'm not sure if you will be needing such capabilities.

Plextor drives are great at reading around scratches and such...but that is about all they are good at. They don't burn any better than the much cheaper LG units, and they don't last as long as most drives.

The I7 is designed as a high-end workstation processor...it is great for gaming because it supports multiple video cards plus hardware RAID, and it is good for video editing for the same reason...assuming you have about a thousand dollars (or more) worth of nVidia video cards. But without all the cards, it is actualy slower than a I5 at the same speed for most things.
