    Yo!

I could fint this thread here that somebody asked if u can play PS2 games on XBOX. I believe so, but I don't know where am I supposed to find a modchip for that, and I ain't 100% sure if my XB will work quite as well as it does now. If i mod it and it doesn't work, can I de-mode it? Whre can I find a modchip like that 1 after all? Will it 100% work? Please tell me, I think I made a huge mistake getting an XB, when I could play 750 games for PS2.

    Thanx

There is no ps2 emulator available for the Xbox - there are ps1, gba, n64, mame, etc., but not ps2 - chances are it will never happen, because you always burn CPU cycles doing software emulation, and the processors in PS2 and Xbox are pretty close (the same generation of hardware).

Yes, you can always take out your modchip if you don't like it that way - most of the new ones don't need to be soldered in, you basically just unscrew them from the motherboard to take it out. I don't know about "100% work", but I have no complaints at all, and it does everything I wanted to be able to do with it (primarily XBMC, but also so I can play a few games off the HD instead of swapping CDs).

The only caveat to "will it work quite as well as it does now" after modding, is XBox Live - I think some chips have a way to disable the modchip if you want to play on XBox Live, mine doesn't, and I don't use Live so I didn't look into the details. If you connect to XBox Live with a modded box, your box will be banned, and you'll never get back on Live again (AFAIK). There are however alternative online game networks available, and those don't have any fees associated with them (Kai for example).

If you're handy with electronics and PCs, you can do it yourself, I enjoyed the process - if not, better find a friend who is - its not really a "turnkey" operation, that's why they call it "hacking" ;-)
