Hi has anybody heard of 'LOCK AND PAY' ?
basically scenes from purchased or free DVDs are locked so the viewer can not see the scene until he/she enters a code.

I do some DVD encoding and have been asked about this, but I have never heard of it before so I have no idea on the technology involved.
Maybe someone here knows something about it?

I know that you can easily insert a pin into a dvd in the form of a plugin I do this now and then in dvdlab for the kids they think its great there own private movie
but it still would be easy to access the movie via shrink, vobblanker etc I cant see any way that you could actualy edit the movie itself or vm commands to enter a pin

    Thanks for the reply,
That sounds very similar, maybe its exactly the same thing except dubbed 'lock and pay' for the commercial market. I doubt most people who purchase or rent DVDs would even bother to try and hack it. Although of course a few would.

Any chance of getting the name of the plugin you used for dvdlab?

    Thanks.
