Hi tommyd13, First, I'd just like to say please do not double post next time. Quote from your first thread: This can be fixed, but I see you've already done so. IE UrlSearchHook(HKCU): Default UrlSearchHook Missing= stsystra.exe is safe. It belongs to your audio. I'm only see two things wrong in your HjT log. 1. Java is way out of date. Still having version 4.0 is practically welcoming malware into your computer. Java is exploited often so be sure to check for updates about twice a month or so. Go here and download [bold]Java Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 9[/bold]. Uninstall all previous version and updates of JRE via [bold]Add/Remove Programs[/bold]. Restart and install [bold]Update 9[/bold]. 2. Run a scan only with HjT and check this: [bold]O2 - BHO: Browser Address Error Redirector - {CA6319C0-31B7-401E-A518-A07C3DB8F777} - c:\Program Files\BAE\BAE.dll[/bold] Close all other windows excpet HjT, then click "Fix checked". If you're having problems or symptoms run an online scan to see if anything is found. Go here to run [bold]Kaspersky Online Scanner[/bold]. After downloading, click "[bold]My Computer[/bold]" to scan. After scanning, click "[bold]Save report as[/bold]". Save as a text file on the desktop. Post the log in your next reply.
I apologize for the double post. I could direct you to another link where i was asking, but i'll give you a run-down here. The reason i'm doing this scan is becuase i just got cable internet. It is only 3mbps, not 5, 7 or 10. Anyway, when i click a link or try to login to say, hotmail, or here, it loads halfway but never goes any further unless i hit refresh at the right time or the "go to" button. It just seems slow to me. To be honest, there must be a problem somewhere! Atleast i hope so because otherwise im going back to dial-up-LOL! So, i will try to do the things you have listed here-which should take some time due to my issue.... I'll let you know. Thanks for the help so far!
You posted your problem at another forum? Sorry to say, but your wasting us helpers time by doing so. Either they or I could be working on some else's log instead of working with the same person. Please either ask them to close your thread and work with me or tell me your going to work with them so I can help someone else. We stay busy enough here as it is because of the limited help and people are still waiting for replies.
sorry-i should've been more clear. I had made a post here about the slow internet(as i see the problem)and then was told to use HJT. Here, look: http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_jump.cfm/415640/2543456-552192 You are the only one helping me, i assure you. I do not wish to waste anyones time. I am a GM technician. not a pc wiz, so i come to you guys/gals for help. It is always appreciated!
No you was very clear. I just assumed too soon and I apologize. And after reading my post again, I'm sorry if I sound a little smart. *runs to hide in corner* Anyway, get back to me when you can with the logs.
OK. cant seem to get page to open for Kaspersky scanner, but i ran HJT. BTW-it didn't seem to before, but when i had my windows firewall turned off it seemed to work a little better. I think i may have a problem there and being too far from the wireless setup; although, im about 10 feet below it now and im still getting about the same results. Maybe if you cant find anything i should just get a booster and setup a different firewall or something....?
Use CCleaner to clean cookies and temp files. Go here and download [bold]CCleaner[/bold]. [bold]Note[/bold]: If you do not want [bold]Yahoo! Toolbar[/bold] uncheck the option when installing. Close all windows. Open [bold]CCleaner[/bold]. Click [bold]Options[/bold] > [bold]Advance[/bold] > uncheck "Only delete files in Windows Temp folders older than 48 hours".
