I found a link to download the firmware for my burner but I dont know which one to select I have a laptop of HP Pavillion series : dv5118tx OS : windows XP Home edition PLZ HELP
This is the latest version of the original firmware for your burner (from what I could tell).. [Edit] Posted the wrong link by accident [/edit] All the other versions listed are specially modified firmwares for different purposes etc. You should be fine with normal firmware.
Hi. Firstly, sorry, I posted the wrong link to firmware in my previous post. Ignore that, and if you downloaded it, delete it. From what I can gather from the DB's site is that this is the latest version of your burner's firmware, released in July 2005! http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_file.php?site=tdb1&file=4082NCQ4.ZIP Either it's older firmware or LG have stopped releasing updates for your drive. As for the file you asked about, I don't know what version that is or if it's for your drive or not.. Flashing with the wrong firmware can often brick a drive, so if yours if still working then chances are it's OK.
