Take a scart lead from your ntl box to AV1 on the TV, connect your red/white/yellow leads into your DVD player and connect the scart on that into AV2 on your TV
To watch DVD/TV flip between AV1 & AV2 on your remote

    Hope that helps :)

HI, Thanks for reply... This is the UPC mediabox. It only has left and right channel for stereo. Scart is also on it, but need to get surround thru home cinema(Samsung). It has a digital outlet for sound, but it is not as standard optical cable. It is a similiar connector as with the other left right set up.

If you haven't already figured it out this connection will be digital coax or maybe named sp/dif if on a computer but the same thing its still digital.
If your Samsung only has an external INPUT for fibre optic you can purchase a coax to fibre optic connector from places such as Jaycar or most big electronic stores.

Forgot to mention that you can use any old rca connector (same as left and right channel connectors) for the digital coax.
