im in the process of getting a hd camcorder to record n make short dvd movies for release through a record label n atl. my question is whats the best camcorder to start with for this type of project. i waslooking at canon xl-h1 hd. and the jvc gr hd1. these both run in my budget of 1500-2000 for a used camera. i plan on editing the footage on a home pc. so any info on the best software and what kind of memory i will need for home p.c would be great.
k1ngsmen, As far as the camcorder is concerned(nice choices too) buy the best you can afford, the one that offers better options etc would be an easy choice to make.(my pref is the canon) As to software for converting/editing,I've used this site for some time now, they have some terrific software(most are freebies) And with regards to memory, what have you got at present? http://www.doom9.org/ Cheers.
