heya, i have serveral home movies on vhs that i wish to move over to dvd. the problem is that over the years some of these have become blured or hazy. Is there a program that can be used to change sharpness or change the lighting before i burn them to dvd? thanks.
Once the files are on your PC (probably as MPEG files) you can use TMPGenc to adjust colour, etc. Just start the program and use the Wizard to step you through to select your final output. When you get to the advanced filter stage tweak the adjustments to your taste. The output will be separate video and audio files that have to be authored into the final disk. A lot of the video capture programs (Pinnacle Studio, Ulead Videostudio) have good filter capabilities, as well. If you have access to Adobe Premiere, even better. Some camcorders allow a "flow-through" of video. That is, you can plug in an analog a/v source and transfer it to computer via firewire. That way, you can record as DV AVI and the process is quite easy.
