    I am looking to buy a standard home receiver to connect to a 12 inch P3 rockford-Fosgate subwoofer that I keep as a spare. The woofer is new condition because I have never had to use it (knock on wood). My question is, what ratings do I look for in a receiver that would tell me that it would be suitable to power this woofer?

    I am pretty audio literate so I don't need any setup instructions or anything, just what ratings to look for and I can handle the connection specifics myself. Below are the subwoofer specs, any suggestions, comments, or helpful links would be appreciated.

    Size = 12"
    Impedance = 2-Ohm x 2
    Power Handling = 500 Watts RMS
    = 1000 Watts Max
    Magnet Weight = 2.55kg

    Well my friend, with a power load of 500 watts and a 2 ohn resistance then u need a receiver that has a current capability of 250 amps. This spec kinda limits out receivers, except Krells FBI integrated power amp or for receivers, u might try Bob Carver Sunfire products.
