Hello all. My family has a very large DVD collection, mostly concert DVDs. I'm looking to back up these DVDs to a PC used only for storage, and I was wondering what the best program to do this is.

I recently bought DivX, and I've enjoyed it quite a bit. I'm wondering if DivX Converter is a good idea for backing up our DVD collection? Ideally, we want to preserve as much quality as possible, while keeping the file sizes to a minimum. Quality comes first, because with concert DVDs it really makes a difference, but size is an issue too.

I'm open to suggestions. Believe me, you all know ALOT more than I do, and I'd really like to learn. I look forward to your responses.

    Thanks in advance, afterdawn.

If this is piracy or a violation of the rules or something, I appologize, and I understand that it has to be removed. Hopefully it isn't.

    Hi
for DVD to DivX/XviD conversions, most people seem to use autoGK ( http://www.autogk.me.uk ), but for some reason i always use avi.NET
( http://www.clonead.co.uk ), so take your pick. For quality, around 700MB per hour should do it.

Good quality at 700MB per hour sounds fantastic, I'll look into both. Thank you for your reply.
