hi guys... i am new here but not to the world of computers,audio,video,etc. i have a problem that has been driving me insane for weeks and cant figure it out. first of, i have just about every major cd/dvd program out there.. for ripping copying authoring converting.. etc... i have an iomega usb 2.0 ext dvd burner i have no problem making dvds from dvds or from converted video formats such as avi, divx, etc. they will play everywhere... everywhere except on my original xbox that is my problem. i had bought a dvd of some old tv shows on line... they are on dvd-r media (one more weird thing is my burner seems to hate dvd-r discs but shoulb be able to use them) no matter how i have burned, speed, format..whatever... it just wont play.. but those discs i bought of the green hornet episodes works great.. any ideas and help would be great. i have searched for so long for how to do this and to understand what or why i cant burn a dvd that plays on the damned xbox.. when, it surely can, since the boots i bought work fine. thanks
no..its stock... it should be able to play burned dvds... it plays others from people i bought... plus store bought dvds as well. why wont it play discs i burn?? i saw softwmods, but i dont have the game that is necessary.
thank you. but like i keep saying.. why does it play discs that WERE burned..on dvd-r's.?? thats why its so odd.. i bought a few green hornet episodes from somoneone who burns them. not knockin you, but his workd.. thats whats drivin me crazy!!
My xbox was stock, I've played burned movies from the drive. Xbox does and will play burned DVD movies but not games unless you have modded the box in someway just like chunkhead said. The Xbox will also not read original or burned DVD movies if you don't have the DVD Movie Playback kit. If you mod the xbox you won't need to spend extra money on the dvd kit because a mod eliminates thats.
