    Howdy all,

I have a both a 350mb & 700mB AVI (different downloads of the same TV show) that play out of sync. They seem to jump around, so if i play from anywhere in the movie it will sometimes be right, then audio will fall behind soon after. I have ran the AVI's through GSpot, it says i have 4 compatible codecs. It says "File length correct", also The DirectShow Render says the Video Src Type is "4cc: XVID" & audio on one is "MPEGLAYER3 (MP3) (0x0055)", & on the other "AC3 (0x2000)".
I have ran Sherlock, & found the following codecs to be installed:

I just noticed that there is no XVid listed as a video codec? I have installed "XviD-1.0.3-20122004" & its listed in my Program Files folder; do I have to do something to 'activate' this codec?
    ***

In WMP 10 the video shows as two seperate videos next to each other, unwatchable. In DivX Player, I get the audio falling behind.

Is it a matter of forcing DivX Player to use a certain codec? Do I have too many installed & should uninstall some (will this make a difference?)?
Even though GSpot said it was a good file, could it be faulty?
I can supply any other info from GSpot (or any other utility) if needed..

I really appreciate any help, I hate to chuck out a gig's worth of downloads if its just a matter of software, etc..

    Thanks, Nathan

I think that GSpot can't detect if a video is ou tof sync. It's possible that you have so many codecs, and that some of them are interlacing. You should uninstall all codecs, then install only latest versions. Install AC3 too.
