I recently tried to update the firmware on my BTC DVD +/-R burner. After I supposedly updated it my computer wouldn't boot past the motherboard's manufacturer's logo. The firmware version was 0054. Is there no hope for my beloved 8x burner?

you can download an older firmware for it.I had the most recent firmware update for an nec 1300a and I didn't like it so I changed it to an older one that I liked.

I'd like to try that but when my burner is connected, my computer won't boot past the motherboard's manufacturer's logo.

Pull the burner out, and try to boot up. If the burner is the problem, I don't know that booting in Safe Mode will work, but you could try that, too. If it does boot, go back to an earlier Restore Point.

If none of that works, clear your CMOS.
