I have gotten a lot of advice on this wonderful forum, especially with my laptop problem. Just wondered why it plays burned data such as program applications, yet it can't play burned movies?
how did you burn the movie what programs did you use .Also you need a movie player installed on your pc
As Rbrock said u need a dvd player program installed on ur laptop. Like PowerDVD, InterVideo WinDVD, Do u have Nero? If so, nero has a dvd player too, Nero Showtime Also VLC media player(free) will also play dvds HERE is a link for VLC player
Could be that you used cheap media to burn your movies on. Could be that the backup wasn't properly mastered...there are many things that could prevent your burner from recognizing a disc that it has just burned. This is what the verification option is for in Imgburn...when the burn is complete the program will verify that the data is written as intended bit for bit. If you have a successful verification you should be able to rerip or watch the disc...if verification fails, well you can guess the outcome.
Thanks for all the info guys....I do have Nero, Intervideo, and VLC. Well good news!! I burned a movie on a Verbatim disc and it actually played on the laptop with Intervideo. Just bought the Verbatim last night and tried today and it worked!! I got an error with VLC, something about a Microsoft Visual 2 ++ error, but that may just be the program. At least it played with Intervideo. I really appreciate all the input from you all.
