How can i add srt subs to a movie i downloaded..?

    I've never messed with subs before because ive never had to..but ive downloaded a movie and it came with subs which i need (the movie is in Jap.) and i can only understand english..haha..can anyone point me in the right direction here. I believe i must download a program..but if anyone can help me find one that would be great! thx

    Hi.
    There's quite a few options. Is the film in AVI format? For those i normally use The Film Machine and Cinema Craft Encoder for the encoding process. It's dead easy to work with and on their site you can get a brilliant guide with it.

    If you want to see subtitles on your tv - use vobsub (part of k-lite codec pack)

    Same problem.
    I have the vobsub program, but it gave me a headache.
    this is the first time iI have done thins and I have no idea what I am doing.
    I asked a friend and she just told me 'use the program'.
    To do what?

    Hi,

    I downloaded a movie in jap with subs and when converted to dvd i saw the subs now when i play the movie no subs can anyone help
