It seems like this is possible. Let me tell you the basics. I use my computer to record high definition TV shows and it records them in .dvr-ms format. They're standard 1080i HD resolution. I've done some preliminary research and it looks like I might have to convert to the .dvr-ms files to AVCHD format before I put them on a DVD. I already know how to do this for standard resolution DVDs, but the trick to this is that I want to burn the TV shows to DVD disks and I want their resolution to be preserved so that I can play it back on my Blu-ray player in the original resolution. Is it possible to do this? Can someone point me in the direction of a guide or give me some pointers? Thanks a lot!

I am interested in transfering data from my Direct TV DVR to a DVD and have had no luck finding instructions in the forums. Have you seen info on this process? Do I need to involve a computer or can I connect it directly to a DVD burner?
