how can i compress a game dvd on a dual layer onto a reg dvd or 2 singal dvds?

Ok i have a game that i just bough i like to back them up onto a dvd and use them adn put my orignal disk away so it wont get messed up... but the question is thre anway to take the game copy the game from a dual layer dvd onto a singal layer dvd ... or is there anyway to copy it and have it split onto 2 singal layer dvd?
