My boot up time is forever (measured in minutes, not seconds) on Windows XP Pro (Pentium D 3.0 GHZ, 2GB ram)) . I have gone through the Add/Remove Programs control panel and removed all unused programs, I have run AdAware, and Norton AntiVirus. Is there anything else I can do to make the boot up faster?

    Hi,

    You can do the following:

Click 'Start' > 'Run' > type 'msconfig' > when a window opens, choose 'BOOT.INI' tab, then at the right in the center look at 'Timeout: x sec.' "x" would be the number of seconds, default is 30 sec, but you can set it to any time you want.

    Hopefully this would help.
