    Welcome to AD poolplaya:

Just click start/control panel/system/hardware/device manager/and locate Dvd-CDrom drives, open up the tree and it should list the brand name and model #.

Some drives may have a generic code listed there, just post back what device manager says about your drive/s

    Check here:
    http://www.siliconguide.com/qa/forum/messages/231.shtml

It's a dvd burner/dvd rom/cd-rom/and cd burner, comes with the dell dimension, and sold under the brand name LG,but outsourced to HL. There may be something about dvd-ram,but I am unclear. I tried googling and all I came up with is this along with 40 millions pages of trying to find drivers for that model#.

What brand name and speed rate are your blank dvd-r?

I couldn't even locate the specs for your drive, but it is a dvd burner.

Maybe try some quality plus format.

    Hi there,

    Try VSO Inspector v1.1

It will tell you what burner you have, and the firmware revision.

Maybe you will get more info than just SCSI DVD-ROM SCSI CDROM DEVICE :)
