Im trying to get a copy of video from a local news channel's website. It is in macromedia flash and I think provided by something called "shadow tv". I've downloaded several programs, including Total Video Converter. But when the program tries to save the video, it saves something completly different?

    Any ideas or suggestions?
    Thanks

Hey, Well first off, get Firefox :)

Then once you have Firefox, install this plugin.
    http://javimoya.com/blog/youtube_en.php
Then use that to save the flash video as an .flv file.
You can then use the flv player or coverter from that site to do what you please.

    Hope that helps...

Thanks for the suggestion, unfortunatly it didn't work. The link to the video im trying to save is http://www.katu.com/home/video/3944006.html

When I hit the icon for the videodownloader, it says it's not a valid URL

I use that Firefox plugin as well. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.

Here's a suggestion to you akdeals, did make sure the flash video you're trying to get is completly cached? Video downloader will only grab flash video after it has cached the entire video. You can tell when it's done by looking at the bar you see at the bottom while it's being played. Once it reaches the end, try video downloaded again and see if it grabs the link this time.

Thanks for the suggestion BlinkN, but I've waited quite a while before trying to copy it, plus played the full video. So I dont believe thats the problem.

Does anyone know of a program that can do copy this...This is really frustraiting me! Ultimately I want to burn it to a DVD, but I cant even get it on my computer yet!
