Hi, I have a mod chip installed in my origional xbox. I am not able to play games that are xbox live capable, any origionals or burned playing from my harddrive. The games usually start up fine and then freeze at the "press start to continue page". Example: NFS underground (origional game), Far cry(on HD), Call of Duty: Finest hour(on HD), etc...

I dont know what mod chip was installed, is there a way to find out what kind of mod chip i have installed without taking the xbox apart? Once i find out the mod chip is, I should be able to fix this problem, Yes or no?

And if theres a quick fix on how to just play the games i mentioned above. I dont want to play xbox live just to play the games period.

    Clear your E:/CACHE folder.

There is no way to identify your mod-chip without opening your xbox.

I figured it out :D after reading numerous forum postings. In this case all i needed to do was rip an xbox live game, in this case NFS Underground, to my HD using dvd2xbox while connected to the internet(Very important, the xbox has to be connected to the internet!!!!).

This somehow rewrote the evox.ini file to prevent it from freezing xbox live capable games at the loading screen.

Heres a link to a great posting on this issue:

    Thanks for the help guys.

    Cheers
