How do I add subtitles? (Not through VirtualDub)

    I know that there is a way to add subtitles using VirtualDub but I would like to know if there is a way to add subtitles to the movie so it can be played in the DVD (like all movies do - add several subtitles in different languages and then switch between them while watching the movie).
    With your help I can save up to 2 hours of adding subtitles in VirtualDub.
