I have recorded some dj mixes in clubs onto a mini dv tape and used final cut pro or adobe premier to save it as avi onto a laptop/p.c.It saved a ten minute set as 2gb avi which seems huge to burn onto a dvd disc,is there a good compression tool that can keep the quality and let me burn bigger sets onto dvd's?thanx.
What you need to do to burn it on a DVD is compress to MPEG-2. You can use a DVD authoring program like Ulead DVD MovieFactory or any of the others to compress the video, create the menus and burn it to DVD all in one go. Also Nero VisionExpress (part of the Nero burning suite) can do it.
You may also try encode the avis with VSO (free version), then burn with e.g. Nero Recode which would compress to fit if needed: http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_software/video_encoders/vso_divxtodvd_free.cfm Good luck!
