i have a hitachi dvd camcorder and have recorded my sons school play with it i am trying to make more copies of it but when i try to copy it to a normal dvd through the computer it will not do it.i have tried coping it through nero vision and nero burning rom can anyone help thankyou
no i dont keep the log files when it asks me.i forgot to mention that the cam disc does play on dvd player
The Nero suite has a "Copy DVD" function that ought to be able to make a direct copy of the disc. Be sure to check the options so that "on the fly" is unchecked. That will force the files to be copied to a temporary file on the hard drive before being recorded back to the blank disc(s) and allow error correction to fix any errors that might occur. You can also select the number of copies you want Nero to make for you. If you want to create a disc name for the copies, you have to take a few more steps; but the "Copy DVD" ought to work if you have compatible blank discs for your DVD recording drive.
it will copy the disc then when it goes to write thats when it stops saying it cannot write this type of file.this is what it said through the nero vision when after 4 hours it went to write file to disc it stopped saying avc/h-264 encoding.
Are the discs you are using DVD-RAM discs or DVD-R discs? The DVD-R discs and format should cause no problem, but DVD-RAM uses a different format. The Hitachi camcorder can use both DVD-RAM and DVD-R media. If the media are DVD-RAM, there are some additional steps that need to be taken. A DVD-RAM video disc will play on a Panasonic or Toshiba DVD player but on very few others. DVD-R discs ought to play on all players that conform to the official DVD Forum standards.
the disc that i have used in the camcorder are dvd-r and the discs that i trying to write to are dvd-r too.is there any other program i can try as i have alcohol 120 which i will have to install first.if i need to get any others that you think of i could try i will.thankyou
you might want to convert the raw video to vob so it will be able to burn to dvd, pinnacle will do that for you
We are still lacking some basic info.. turn auto play off for the dvd drive, then browse the disk like a normal dvd and report what you find please. Some camcorders have a really odd menu setup which they put on the disks.. we could be looking at divx files or just about anything.
i want to thankyou all for your help i have managed to do it i tried copying in alcohol didnot work so tried image making wizard it copied the file and the i was able to burn it.once again thankyou
Maybe give Nero Recode, DVD Shrink, or VSO ConvertX. You already have Recode ( You have Nero), DVD Shrink is free, the other is more expense. Hope this helps you out? Burn On, Russell PS. Did your camcorder come with any software ( My little sister's did and no problems.
