first off i tried to search on this subject but i had no luck, maybe my search criteria sucks i dont know. anyway, my problem is that i am trying to back up a movie and when i rip it with dvd decrypter the movie it self is like 7+ gigs. how am i suppose to fit that on a 4.7 gig dvd-r? or do i have to use different media? or can it be shrunk somehow? any help is appreciated. just getting into backing up my collection, and dont understand the whole media difference thing. +, -, r, rw, i hate to sound like a total newb but hey...please be kind. if you can show me to a thread also that might help, much appreciated.. toozit
i have that program, do i have to set somekind of setting? perhaps someone can point me to a turorial or thread? okay i found a tutorial, but it doesnt really help me too much, in dvd shrink the bar that shows the size of the video ha a bit of red. this means it wont fit on a reg. dvd-r, am i right? in this case what should i do? should i try double layer disk? will that help?
Slide the bar down, until it's not red any more. You could use a DL disk, with NO compression at all.
DL? thats double layer right? can i burn a double layer disk with a dvd+-r/rw drive? sorry if it sounds like a dumb question. guess i need to do a bit more reading.
Your DVD Burner needs to be able to burn DL disks. Just look up your model online to see it's specs. Also look at the top of your browser and find the Guides tab. It has everything you need.

Run it through shrink. If it still won't fit, run it through again. No real harm in shrinking it twice
