Hi guys, I've been to every tutorial on how to mod my U.S. gamecube to play Japanese games.

The thing is, the setup on my mainboard isnt the same as all the ones in the pictures so I'm stuck at the soldering part.

I understand I am to solder a wire to the R6 connection and another to a terminal of some sort? One that does not seem to exist in the same spot as on the pictures (on all the sites i've been to).

I'm not sure how old the gamecube is, I bought it Used. BUT! if it help; It's black and the port that connects the console to the TV is BELOW the port for the Power cord, and right ABOVE the vent.
(I've noticed in all the pics i've seen, they are side by side. My power cord port is smaller too. The 2-pin kind)

If anyone could help me out with some pictures showin me what to do it would be MUCH appreciated

Thanks =p (also, if u wanna help me and would like to see some pics of the GC lemme no and ill post em up)

uh? You mean you can't play japanese games on your GC? That's strange... Well, I got a chip to play copied games and I can play Naruto Clash of Ninja 4, Captain Tsubasa and Battle Stadium D.O.N. (all of them in japanese) without any problem on my GC and my GC is american (I don't know if the chip has something to do with it). I mean don't japanese use NTSC system like USA? I don't know why you can't play them...

Well Villamar, it's a U.S. Gamecube. I don't want to have to use a freeloadder so I'm trying to mod it to play Japanese games when i flip the switch i installed.

I've seen plenty of diagrams and examples to know what to do, but it seems my mainboard on my GC is either a newer version OR maybe just made in a different region or something. Point is, it looks different from all the pics in the tutorials i've seen and i don't want to take a chance in soldering the the wires to the wrong points of the mainboard and fry my GC; that's why i was hoping somebody on here knew what to do=P

I said my GC is U.S., too and I don't have a freeloader. I got a chip to play copied games and I can play japanese copied games without any problem. o_O

Don't know if you have checked out this site but just showing it out.

Look on the left and go to 'custom mods' --> 'hardware' --> 'region free mod'
