How do I open a .tar.gz file? ! Help

    i just downloaded the DVD-to-iPod-converter 38540.tar.gz file and can't find anything to open the file. I'm using a Mac 10.4.8. Please help!

    Thanks!

    PS: Is there an AV cable made to use on my iPod Video to play on my TV?
    Radio shack maybe?

    I don't have any idea about the file, but you can get a camcorder cable with the end that looks a lot like a headphone jack, just with an extra band on it, and you switch the yellow and red on the RCA end.
