tite tite...just use boxexplorer or watever hdd explorer u have and create a folder called Games in the dirctory or E:/ so ur folder will be in E:/Games .put ur halo 2 disc in and copy all the files from D:/ (which will be ur halo 2 files)EXCEPT for the campian maps to E:/Games/Halo2 it should fit. then u will be able to play halo 2 off ur hdd, mod the old maps and play on xbc with them

well when u copy games on ur hdd it makes a folder called Games in the E:/ directory. Then the games u burn are put in E:/Games.Here's an example...Ex-Mechassault = E:/Games/Mechassault. Halo 2 = E:/Games/Halo2 . do u get it now?..so make a folder called Games in E:/ . then make a folder called Halo2 in the Games folder . then open boxplorer or hdd xplorer and on one side open D:/ and on the other side open E:/Games/Halo2. select all the files and folders EXCEPT for the Maps folder, on ur D:/ then copy em to E:/Games/Halo2.. now make a folder in E:/Games/Halo2 called maps. so it will be E:/Games/Halo2/Maps ,now open D:/ and go to maps. now copy all the halo 2 maps(such as lockout, midship)to E:/Games/Halo2/maps..DON'T COPY THE CAMPAIGN MAPS.. they'll be the maps like 04_HighCharitiy or 03_Newmebossa....copy all the other maps.... then go back to ur dashboard the select the option games or play games whicheverone shows on ur dashboard. then halo 2 will appear..

there are 2 ways you can do this:

1: Simply FTP over the ISO into the correct directory.

2: Burn the ISO to a disc then use dvd2xbox (or any other program like it) to copy it straight to the HDD.

Because if you have a stock hard drive, Halo 2 won't fit on it. He saying to remove the single player maps because he's assuming that only multiplayer will be played.

If you're just trying to back-up Halo 2, you'll be better off putting it on a DVD-R.

Sure. You just won't be able to play single player.

I used to do that for modded Halo 2 system link before I upgraded my hard drive.

You can delete a bunch of things to make Halo 2 smaller. Delete everything in the bink folder, these are loading videos. Delete the maps that start with numbers and the single_player_shared.map, these are for campaign. You can also delete dashupdate.xbe, uploader.xbe, and downloader.xbe. Now you have a very small Halo 2.

4502 megabytes. I backed it up to my hard drive yesterday because I wanted to play it a bit and wanted some shorter load times.

boxplorer is an outdated Xbox file manager.

Couldn't tell you about modding maps though, since all I ever used modded maps with was system link.
