Help!! I am trying to remove some icons in my systray and am unable to remove some of them. Things I have tried that didn't work are: right clicking on the icon and looking for a "remove" option, clicking on Start>Programs>Startup, and clicking on Start>Run and typing msconfig and looking under Startup.

Can anyone one offer ideas please? Would TweakUI handle this?

My OS is Windows XP Professional.

    Thanks
    Robert

Oh forgot to mention, you can try right clicking the icon itself and see if it gives the option to exit/delete etc from there.

this is what i use..to remove icons in my systray

    www.mlin.net

Startup Control Panel is a nifty control panel applet that allows you to easily configure which programs run when your computer starts. It's simple to use and, like all my programs, is very small and won't burden your system. A valuable tool for system administrators!
Startup Control Panel is compatible with all modern versions of Windows, including Windows 95, 98, 98SE, ME, NT 4.0, 2000, and XP.

also great for windows 2000 users as 2000 has no misconfig

Many thanks to you both!! I have installed Ace Utilities and still trying to figure out how to get it to work in stopping icons from showing up when I restart my system.
