Hi, I am having a problem with one of our users of our computer. She will not stop downloading Filesharing programs and junk that just brings toolbars, spyware, viruses, along with them. How would I go about Restricting that user of downloading anything off the net? Thanks. John
I'll add to Rav's suggestion. Sit that person down for just five seconds. Tell her only this. She downloads or uses one more P2P program, and she'll never use the computer again. Maintaining the computer so no one can bypass what you have done...works, but keeping them off in the first place is much less stressful.
Well, thanks for your suggestions, Ill be sure to try warning her. But for Rav, her account IS limited, yet it still lets her download and install anything. Thanks. John
Try password protecting the Admin level rights. If a program that needs installation requires Admin privileges, she'll have to put in a password... Start, run, control userpasswords2 You'll see the main Administer at the top of the list. Highlight, click Reset Password. Add one.
well the best thing you could do is try to find a blocker maybe something to block downloads,or use passwords on your computer and only let her on when your around use content advisor also as like a blocker to block her from going to the internet when your not around,if all else fails just keep your pc locked and dont let her on it
Does anyone know of a download blocker?? Either something i can run on a user account or something that requires a password in order to download.
