Hi there, ok here's my problem i have 2 files of the same movie however one file is dubbed in english but has a crappy picture where as the other is in cantonese but has a good picture. What i want to do is rip the audio from the dubbed english file and replace it in the cantonese. So that i end up with a good picture and english audio. I hope this makes sense.

This assumes that the audio tracks are the same length in each video.

Load/drag the English video into VirtualDub.
Click 'Audio' 'Full Processing Mode' 'Compression' 'No Compression' 'OK'.
Click 'File' 'Save WAV' and save the file to a convenient location.

Load/drag the other video into VirtualDub.
Click 'Audio' 'Audio from other file' and load the WAV file that you saved.
    Choose 'Full processing mode'
Select 'Compression' and choose 'Lame mp3'
48,000 128, CBR Stereo (if available).
    'OK'

    Click 'Video' 'Direct Stream Copy'
    Click 'File' 'Save as AVI'.

    Lame MP3 codec
Right click on 'LameACM.inf' file and Install

Thanks attar, well i tried your method. Here comes the but, by the end of the film it is totally out of sync, i thought this would happen because i had an error message when opening the files in VirtualDub. Below is the messages i received:

    From the English file:
AVI: Variable bitrate(VBR) audio detected. VBR audio is non-standard and you may encounter sync errors up to 6392ms when attempting to extract WAV files or processing the audio in Direct Stream Copy mode. Full Processing mode is reconmended to decompress or recompress the audio. (bitrate: 92.0 + 7.9kbps)

Does this mean it can't be done?

But you selected 'Full processing mode' to save the wav file initially - so that's not the problem.

Try this;load the new file and click 'Video' 'Frame rate'
Under 'Source rate adjustment', choose 'Change so audio and video durations match' then 'OK'
Select 'Video' 'Direct Stream Copy' then save the file again.
Audio default is 'Direct Stream Copy' too.

    Good luck.
