OK I GOT THIS XBIT CHIP FROM A WEB SITE ... I TOOK APART MY XBOX .. I DROPED IT IN USING THE PGO PINS AND THE SCREW... IT LIT UP IT SHOWED ME THAT IT HAD POWER ... I THOUGHT I FLASHED IT USING THE USB CABLE AND YET NUTHING HAPPENED ... I THEN SAID OK I GUESS FLASHING IT DOESNT DO NE THING SO I THEN CREATED AND EVOX BOOT DISK .. OR I THINK I DID I INCLUDED THE FILES HER (EVOX.INI,DEFAULT.XBE,DUMMY.TMP,BIOS FOLDER, AND SKIN FOLDER) PUT ALL THAT IN AN ISO USING XISO.. THE BURNED IT USING EASY CD CREATOR JUST AS GOOD AS NERO ... WENT TO FILE BURN FILE FROM IMAGE DISK AT ONCE AND 2 TIMES.. I WAS USING MEMOREX CDRW 4 TIMES AND I STILL CANT GET ANYTHING ... I FIGURED THAT NOW HERE IS ANOTHER THING SAY I FLASH IT OK AND THE CHIP IS IN RIGHT AND ALL AND I GET A GREEN/RED FLASHING LIGHT THAT IS A PROBLEM ... BUT AS SOON AS I TAK OUT THE CHIP IT IS OK AGAIN... THE CHIP IS IN USING THE PGO PINS AND FROM THE LOOKS OF IT THAT IS A PRETTY CHEAP SET UP THEY MADE ... WHAT DO YOU THINK I SHOULD DO ???
ok i did a quick search for u and found this there may be something who knows and STOP SHOUTING lol capitals means shouting in forums aswel as everywhere else on the net anyway have a look if no go maybe someone else wil be able to help you aswel now you've stopped shouting * The PogoPin/Solderless install Most people will probably install the X-B.I.T this way ... you pay for those pogopins, so might aswell use them. I was surprized how easy the pogopins aligned. I don't know how they managed to do it ... is it due the spiked pogopins (for "d0" point), is it because the board is pretty large and fits around the corner of the IDE connector (which also causes it to be stable)? ... anyway the modchip alligns very easily. Just put the LPC pogopins on the LPC points, and the d0 pogopin is almost automaticly correctly alligned. The X-B.I.T has 2 spiked "d0" pogopins, so it installs soldeless on all xbox versions till xbox v1.4 (power and ground are disconnected on LPC on xbox v1.5 ... so it will need 2 extra wires). There's also no stability problem with the pogo-pins, they keep good contact with the LPC points and with d0. I installed it on a motherboard with 'empty' LPC holes ... but I think it will also align without too many problems on filled LPC holes (v1.0 and early v1.1 only). i don't know what version xbox you have or anything just taking some time to search for ya hope it helps
also you did use the software to flash yeah i've private messaged you so have a look at your messages and get rid of your email because you'll have all kinds of porn ads go to you and others usually a moderator will delete it
ok ... sry about the caps ... i currently have the chip installed.. the bios i had was defective i am now running ozxbios (cromwel 1.12) on my xbox now what do i do from here i boot up the tray ejects and it says looking for cd how do i make a boot cd .. im in the proces of tring evox.ini (file) default.xbe (file) skin (folder) bios (folder) dummy or abc.dat(folder) burned using nero which was hard to find... i put the disk in and still nothing im usind memorex 4X cdrw media ... let me know what you guys think ?? Next possible step>?
did you go and look at that website? because it goes from step to step you need to flash with the correct bios you need to put the correct bios on the cdrw make sure it's the right one and size for your chip go to the site where you bought it or the site i gave you and check
what do you mean the right bios (i got cromwell runnng on it) i just need to figure out how to make a boot cd that cromwell will read... or can i reflash my chip with evox directly through the usb cable? do i evan need to make a boot disk ? and my dip switches wont shut off the chip i tried # 4 dip switch to on is *stm* and when i put it on my xbox acts up powering on and of 3 times b4 flashing red whast up with that ... i have alot of questions and i have been trying this for 2 weeks (this is my first forum) i have read others but nothing realy got to specific to me .. you need either x2 bios or evoxm7 bios but you need to make sure you get the right size if the xbox is asking for a disk then yes you need to make a disc with the bios on it if you mess about with the wrong bios you can actually fry your chip and won't be any good where you from usa uk or what?

ok i did what you sed i lookes around for evox and x2 i currently have over 50 bios at my diposal on my harddrive.. however i cant make a boot disk ... yes i have seen the websites on how to make 1 and i still dont get it ( i reflashed my xbit chip so now i have cromwell 2.27 runings on my box) i dont know it is is better then my previous 1.12 but it is working... please let me know how to make a disk that this bios will real i really want evoxm7 and i have but what now ???? write back ... thanks
open nero 6 burn as IMAGE burn very very slow like x1 if you may have to have a dummy file on disc aswell
you still need a different bios evoxm7 or x24981 are the latest i don't think you'll get much joy from cromwell how come your not using the usb cable to flash anyway it even claims to flash pre installation!

Ok get this i got evox going i'm using a new colormod flash and i can see it showing up ... it is working great .. i ftp'd my xbox transfered sum files to the c drive now i dont need the cd evox is my standard dash i copied the skins and bios ... i got unlimited bios now ... i only have one question ... in evox it has the options and that othe menue which has "games" and "apps" well i added "Mp3's" and now i got 3 empty folders on my evox ... where is that folder how do i put stuff in it can evox run a .wav file ... i created the directories on the E:/ drive should i put them sum where elce... what is the f drive .. please write back any help you may have... thank you
