**HOW DO I TRANSFER FILES FROM MY PC TO MY NEW LAPTOP???**

    just bought a laptop, router. And i want to transfer my music collection from my PC to my new laptop.

    can any1 direct my to a guide or step-by-step instructions?

    another way to do this,get a external usb2 hard drive load ye files to the external hd..as ye files now can be shared with any xp-2000 computers...

    Not difficult at all especially if you have a router. Just have both computers on the same workgroup name and disable any software firewalls such as Norton Internet Security. Then just sare the directory where your music is and viola! No need to buy any extra adapters or hard drives.

    a router is ok to transfer,but its not as fast as a usb2 hd..and this way ye always have a back up copy of ye music files and music files can be added as ye download them to ye external and then transfer....and ye do not have to disable ye firewall...and ye still can serf the net as ye transfer ye files to ye external hd or to ye other computer..

    Just use a crossover cable and flashfxp.. lol

    im thinkin of going the 'network' way using a router cuz i dun wana buy any wires or anything, unless a 'crossover cable' is the same thing as an ethernet, in whcih case can u guys expand on that.

    i dunt relly know how to set up a network, tried the other day and all i got outta it was a 'shared documents' folder in my computer on tha pc and laptop, but i drop stuff in there and its not liek it then shows up on my laptop, plz help

    or you know you could just burn it to a dvd. probably the simplest option if u dont have the cross over cables etc
