how do i turn off auto updates in media player

    how do i turn off auto updates in windows media player.

    btw i dont want vlc or media monkey or any other software.

    auto updates is windows updates so turn that off in control panel.

    I'm not trying to be mean but WMP is garbage and people should upgrade to something else.

    After the fix works or not ask people on this board for a decent substitute.

    its not a windows update.its updating media files in the play lists.half the album info on the tracks is wrong due to the updates,some of the songs ive had to rip again because there messed up.

    @attar ive been to the registry and followed the instructions.thanx for the link hope it works.

    @scorpNZ cyberlink was on my computer when i got it and it wouldn't play any sound.think ive still got it on disc somewhere.
