How do Install an operating system

    I have an old pentium 3 733mhz desktop and I want to install an operating system on it(the hd has been formatted) how would I do this?

    P.S I have a windows XP install disk

    Generally, stick the disc in the CD drive and start the computer ;-)

    However, the computer has to be able to boot from a CD... but if it has a Pentium 3 it shouldn't be too old.

    You have to go into the Motherboard BIOS and set your CD drive as your primary boot device.

    how do you do that? is that when you like press f12 or f2 in the beginning?

    Yes. At the very beginning when you press the on button on you tower. You should get that option. Usually it's the F2 or DEL key.
