How Do You Cold Boot Your Xbox?

Okay , I was having problems with my xbox and a guy told me to unplug my xbox long enough for it to reset the time. Then , cold boot it and I should get a temp. dash that would let me FTP from there. Anyone know how to cold boot?

 

while your disk tray is out turn your xbox off then turn it back on its as simple as that
