i have downloaded a file that when i tried to decompress the audio with virtualdub i got error messages that it could not find anything to decompress it with.the file plays fine on my computer so i know that i have the correct codecs. i have 2 different downloads of the same thing,1 has ac3(0x2000)dolby laboratories audio,the other has 0x0055(mp3)ID'd as MPEG-1 Layer3 when i opened with G-spot. on the first i get error messages with Vdub and Vdubmod,on the second it seems to work until you play decomp file and the only audio that you get is backround niose,ie wind,waves,music there is no audio for actors speaking? does anyone have a solution?why is it missing audio?can you decompress mp3 so TMPGEnc can encode it. any ideas folks?
They decompress AC3 sound only if your PC is able to. If you have AC3 simply Demux it with VirtualDubMod (Stream___Stream List__Demux, then convert that strem with HeadAC3he or BeSweet... If you have MP3, load the movie with VirtualDub, set audio__Full processing Mode, and do File___Save WAV. But TMPGenc can load MP3 audio (if it was compressed CBR; if it was compessed VBR it will mess the A/V sync any you'l have to decompress it). But, in any case, once you turn that sound stream to uncompressed WAV, it can read it as 'audio input'.
