Hi, I recently started to optimize my drive for DVD burning, but I don't know how to find out which version of firmware my drive contains. I think my burner is a Samsung TS-H552B , at least if this doesn't make sense to anyone; this is what DVD Decrypter recognizes my drive as when I'm ready to burn a DVD: "TSSTcorp CD/DVD TS-H552B (E" . I went to the Samsung website and found the firmware updates section for this model, but I just want to make sure I'm doing everything right because I've heard that you can really screw up your burner if you don't do it the exact way.
Sure mate, u sure can f**k up ur drive! To find the version firmware on ur drive, simply click properties on the drive u want to know about. Then anything after the letters "DVD" or "CD", is the firmware. Better yet download this: http://flashman.rpc-1.com/Firmware/DVD-CD_firmware_detect.exe
