How Long does image Copyright Protection Endure?

    I have a postcard from some where around 1900.

    I just wanted to no if it's still copyrighted or not.

    I can't find a stright anwser any where.

    copyright on pictures in the US runs out after 20 years, i think.unless it was renewed, you're good.

    I don't no about that.

    I keep running into this

    A work created (fixed in tangible form for the first time) on or after January 1, 1978 is automatically protected from the moment of its creation, and is ordinarily given a term enduring for the author's life, plus an additional 70 years after the author's death.

    Ok Now and I just found this
    Works originally created Before January 1, 1978, but not published or registered by that date: the term endures for life of the author plus 70 years, but in no case will expire earlier than December 31, 2002. If the work is published before December 31, 2002, the term will not expire before December 31, 2047.

    I don't no,Yeah and I just seen that you can renew.
