How long should it take?

    Im trying to convert a xvid file to dvd, Im using Divxtodvd but it says its going to take 5 hours?, is that right?, the file size is 680 megs thanks for the replys

    Well I think thats too long to wait.When I encode avi to DVD it normaly takes me around 2-3 hours.

    Okay I thought I would add that I downloaded it from a torrent site, the file name is devon.xxx.dvdrip.xvid.xcite so am I using the right software to do this, I changed the movie name just so you no

    No It doesn't matter if its downloaded porn or whatever.Well I use TMPGEnc Plus 2.5 to encode it to MPEG-2 standard then I use either TMPGEnc DVD Author or DVD-Lab pro to transcode it to dvd.

    Yes you are doing it right..But for some reason Every time I use One-click transcoding tools It seam to output crap.Or just freezes or crashes.Thats why I think its better to use separate programs to do the job.

    damn kiddo u computer must sucks ass

    my laptop p4 2.8, 512ram and ati 9000 64ram.

    5400 60gb it only takes me 1hr to do most conversion with dixtodvd.

    Based on your system specs, you should be able to encode the entire movie in under an hour using DivX2DVD. Have you tried WinAVI at all? It is another simple and fast encoder (Not highest quality though). Maybe you are running too many programs or services in the background when you are doing this?
